Get the clarity you need.

Invest in a life that is worth living.

IIt is important to understand the purpose of therapy and the role it can play in your life. It might help to think of it as an investment in your relationships, your future, and your quality of life. Sometimes we spend money on certain types of regular self-care, such as getting our nails done, having a gym membership, going out to eat regularly, getting massages, etc. Therapy should be the ultimate form of taking self-care because not only will you understand yourself better, you’ll carry the insight and change into the rest of your life.

Therapy is a space for you to take care of you. Although you are the expert of your own life, you might need a trained expert to guide you through the aspects of life you might not be able to do on your own. Someone who will ask you certain questions that you’ve never thought about asking yourself, or challenge you in ways that goes against what’s familiar and comfortable in order to establish change. Someone who will help you identify what a “better version” of yourself or your life is, and attain it. That’s where I come in!

ADHD testing is also an investment for long-term success. Getting answers for why you’ve been struggling your whole life can be extremely validating and give you clarity on how to move forward. Although it is possible for other licensed professionals to diagnose ADHD, only a licensed clinical psychologist can provide you with a comprehensive evaluation to detect ADHD with greater accuracy because it involves a multitude of tests and methods. Getting the wrong diagnosis can lead to the wrong type of treatment.

Think of it like this. When you go to the doctor for a particular medical issue, they likely have an idea of what may be going on with you based on pure observation and your verbal report, but there’s still potential room for inaccuracy so the doctor might refer you to get blood work or x-rays completed to determine the true issue. ADHD testing (and all other psychological testing) is similar in the sense that it can rule in or out a diagnosis that is in question. It’s comprehensive nature involves an entire process that gives you the answers you’ve been looking for and can assist in figuring out the right treatment for the long-run. It’s worth the investment.
